This gold digger prank video has gone viral. It’s short and simple: a man approaches an attractive lady and cuts straight to the chase:
“Hey, I was looking at you, and I thought you were really pretty, and I wanted to get your number.”
He’s got chutzpah. Some girls go for that. Not this one though.
“Let’s go out to dinner,” he tries.
“Y’know, I don’t really go out to dinner with people,” she says.
Then, the man, who is really prankster Roman Atwood, unlocks a conveniently placed Lambourghini and tries again.
“I don’t usually ask twice, but you sure you don’t want to go out with me?”
Now the tables have turned.
“Is that your car?” she asks.
“Yeah, that’s my car. Why?”
“Well, I might be able to go out to dinner with you.”
Gold digger, you have been busted.
You’ll have to click play to see how the gold digger drama ends. Suffice to say, it looks like the Hold Steady line holds true: guys go for looks, girls go for status.
On the other hand, you could say the gold digger has more relevant information to work with here. The guy only knows that the girl is hot. She could be a soccer mom or a serial killer (or both!). He doesn't know. He's taking her out on looks alone. The gold digger knows that he's got cash (or she thinks she knows that, she's actually being pranked). I know you, dear reader, aren't choosing your partners on anything so superficial as looks or money, but is money really the worse one to go with?
I don't know. Either way, however many tries it took to get the quintessential gold digger, it's a little sad that this prank worked at all.
