This cerebral musician is playing under tough conditions.

A man in Brazil chose to play a Beatles tune while getting brain surgery and he did a better job than most people who aren’t being cut open while they sing.

Thirty three-year-old Anthony Kulkamp Dias needed a possibly life-threatening tumor removed from his brain. However, doctors needed to map his brain activity in order to avoid causing neurological damage to Dias during the removal. How does one stay calm and alert when a team of doctors is poking around your skull? Dias decided the best way to keep himself awake and entertained was by playing the guitar and singing “Yesterday” by the Beatles.

“Yesterday my troubles seemed so far away.” At least Dias maintained his sense of humor.
