Snowball fights are supposed to be fun. Sure, sometimes they can hurt, depending on the size of the snowball, how fast you throw it, and where it hits you, but by and large snowball fights are fun! Not so in the case of this snowball fight that occurred at the University of Oregon, where students took what began as a good old fashion snowball fight and ended in one Football players suspension, and may lead to criminal charges.
The snowball fight video was uploaded to YouTube and went viral within a couple of days. The video shows a bunch of University of Oregon students throwing snowballs at people driving by that were not involved the snowball fight. The video attracted viewers due to the nature of the students which seemed to grow more aggressive by the minute.
Eventually a man in his car stopped driving so he wouldn’t hit anyone in the snowball fight, then things got out of hand. The people would not let the driver through and began attacking him with snowballs. Eventually they gave up throwing snowballs and ended up dumping a bucket of snow on the windshield so that the driver couldn’t even see. The driver got out of his car, clearly pissed off.
Oregon tight end Pharaoh Brown was one of the students caught on tape throwing the aggressive snowballs. He was suspended. The University of Oregon stated that “all students involved in the fight, including non-players, are subject to further discipline from the dean of students.”
