This Woman’s Holiday Snap Is An Absolute Mind Bender

It's hard to tell if the woman had fun on her trip, but one thing’s for sure, she wasn’t so lucky with the pictures.

Optical illusion

A photo posted on Reddit with the caption “Do her legs go all the way up?” has taken the internet by storm.

The picture shows a woman on a holiday, relaxing in a swimming pool, but the freaky part is that only her face and legs can be seen, and apparently both of them are joined together. But then where is the rest of her body?

The holiday snap garnered around 174 comments. “I guess she was the inspiration for the 'Show Girls' movie poster,” on Reddit users wrote. “Are those actually chunky legs that the water is distorting? I feel like there is a mismatch here,” another said.

But things soon escalated as one internet user diverted people’s attention to the female’s golden bead cornrows.

“Nobody is going to comment on the gold bead cornrows? $20 says this girl caught HPV at spring break 2004,” he wrote. The next few replies on the thread were all focused around the woman’s hairstyle, but then other Redditors who appeared to have a more scientific approach to the situation stepped in to give their two cents.

“Refraction. When light leaves/enters water, it is bent, traveling in a different direction to your eye. What you see from this low camera angle is what you'd see from a much steeper camera angle, if the water were not there,” one person wrote.

“To elaborate, when the light leaves the water at a high enough angle it will begin to reflect,” another said.

While some of the scientific explanations do make sense, the picture is actually pretty freaky and a total mind bender. Looking at it for too long makes it seem even worse, and brings to you the realization that it actually may be even Photoshopped.
