Jon Stewart might be one of the greatest comedians and satirists in the country, but he could be quite different from his on-screen persona, claims Wyatt Cenac.

Former writer and correspondent for The Daily Show Wyatt Cenac recently exposed his multiple issues with host Jon Stewart on a recent episode of the WTF podcast by Marc Maron – and his revelations are actually surprising.

While talking about his departure from the late night talk show, Cenac revisited an incident where he "cringed" at a Herman Cain impression by Stewart that appeared rather racist.

After voicing his concerns, Cenac said he got questioned and cross-questioned after which Stewart screamed “F--- you, I’m done with you” several times at him.

Cenac recalls breaking into tears.

“I represent my community,” he told Maron. “I represent my people, and I try to represent them the best that I can. I gotta be honest if something seems questionable, because if not, then I don’t want to be in a position where I am being untrue not just to myself but to my culture, because that’s exploitative.”

Cenac stayed with the show for a year before quitting.

This isn't the first time Stewart has been accused of responding aggressively when it comes to racism. In an essay for Salon, author Alison Kinney described him as “dismissive,” recalling the time she called out his warm-up jokes as racist while attending a taping of the show.
