On Monday morning, a 12-year-old girl was killed in a water skiing accident at Newfound Lake in New Hampshire, WCVB5 reported.
Zoe Anderson, from Highland Ranch, Colorado, was learning how to slalom ski with her dad, Sherwood Anderson, who was driving the 20-foot Cobalt powerboat.
Anderson fell off her skis into the water, and as her father went back to get her, his hat flew off his head, distracting him from driving. The boat was going at a slow speed in neutral when it went over Zoe's body, causing serious injuries to her torso.
She was pulled back onto the boat, which her mother and older sister were also on, but resuscitation was unsuccessful.
Police continue to investigate the devastating incident.
