If you haven't seen the Youtube video below yet, go ahead and watch it and while you watch, see if you notice any product placement. The amazing video captures an Evan Longoria catch that truly is hard to believe. There may be some reason behind that.

The video shows Evan Longoria (not to be confused with Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria) during an interview from the sidelines in which he shifts away with cat-like reflexes to snag a hard hit ball – barehanded – before it hits the unsuspecting reporter conducting the interview. It's become an insanely viral video since showing up on Youtube May 6, so much so that Youtube reps shared the following internet rumors about who might be behind the releasing of the video:

Some point to the (subtle?) branding within the footage as an indication that the video is actually a spot from Gillette — Longoria is already a part of the company’s Young Guns 2011 campaign — and Gillette has been known to get creative with their videos, as evidenced by 2010′s Roger Federer trickshot clip that’s been seen 8.4 million times.

The two videos certainly have the same feel, and it's probably no mistake that at least four Gillette logos can be spotted in the background. While the possibility of the video being a fake takes most of the fun away from such an amazing video, it's a pretty smart move by Gillette to get a swatch of buzz created on one of their star spokesmen. And if the video is the real thing, it's a pretty great move by Longoria as well.
