What does it say about our country and politics when a man at the show tonight felt the need to protest Disney’s Frozen on Broadway with a pro Trump flag?? How frightening is it that our show’s messages of love, acceptance, and diversity have become the opposition to supporting Trump? The curtain call is a thank you between actors and audience, a final connection to end a shared experience. I will not apologize for how I responded to the disrespectful man trying to interrupt this moment with a pathetic political platform. Not at our show! Not in front of my beautiful, diverse, talented cast at @frozenbroadway. I appreciate everyone’s support. #resist #lovewins #lovetrumpshate

A President Donald Trump supporter tried his best to steal the limelight from the cast of “Frozen” Broadway but that didn’t happen, all thanks to actor Timothy R. Hughes.

The Broadway’s cast was taking a bow after they ended the night’s performance when a pro-Trump man sitting in the front row stood up and started waving a Trump support flag in front of the cast at the kid-friendly show. That is when Hughes, who played “Pabbie,” the wise troll, snatched the “Trump 2020? flag during the curtain call, disposed it behind him and quickly took a bow.

The actor later explained the motive behind his actions and made it very clear that he will not apologize to the “disrespectful man trying to interrupt this moment with a pathetic political platform.”

“What does it say about our country and politics when a man at the show tonight felt the need to protest Disney’s Frozen on Broadway with a pro Trump flag??” Hughes described the incident on Instagram. “How frightening is it that our show’s messages of love, acceptance, and diversity have become the opposition to supporting Trump?

“Not at our show! Not in front of my beautiful, diverse, talented cast at @frozenbroadway,” he concluded.

In 2016, Great White Way made a very impactful message when the then-Vice President-elect Mike Pence came to watch a “Hamilton” performance. Pence tried to rush out of the musical after curtain call, but the actors took the opportunity to let him know how they felt of the Trump’s administration.

“We, sir, we are the diverse America, who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights.”

Soon after, Trump slammed the cast for “harassing” and being “rude” to Pence.
