Kate McKinnon Comes Out Of Hiatus And Nails Sessions Impression

"Saturday Night Live" star and comedian Kate McKinnon uncannily reenacts Jeff Sessions' Senate Intelligence Committee testimony on "Late Night with Seth Meyers."

Although "Saturday Night Live" is on hold until this fall, Kate McKinnon still managed to break out a scarily uncanny impression of Attorney General Jeff Sessions at his Senate testimony on Tuesday's "Late Night with Seth Meyers."

The comedian admitted she had been saving a Grinch-like, turtle-like grin for a face just like Sessions'.

After watching the attorney general's testimony during the Senate Intelligence Committee hearing, which addressed rumors that he met Russia's ambassador, McKinnon said she felt compelled to reenact his performance.

In her impression, she took a stab at Comey and joked about Kislyak in a bathroom, as transcribed by Rolling Stone.

"'Oath' is such a strong word. When I said 'oath,' I thought I was saying 'oats' in one of those lispy Barcelona accents … Now with [Russian Ambassador] Sergey Kislyak, I only met him two times. OK, three times. But the third time was in a men's restroom, and we was just talking about what a trial it is to get soap out of those electric soap dispensers. As for Jim Comey, he asked me to keep Trump out of his way, right?... But the truth is, I didn't hear him. This guy's about six foot eight, and I had heard a sound above my head. I thought it was a cicada. [Sneezes] Recuse me."

With the crowd and Meyers loudly applauding, McKinnon said, "Thank you for indulging me in this."

Back in March, McKinnon impersonated Sessions in a well-received "Forrest Gump" sketch for the New York-based comedy show. She's also played Hillary Clinton and Kellyanne Conway, but she confessed that Sessions is her favorite.
