Mark Hamill Calls Trump's Cabinet A 'Who’s-Who' Of 'Despicable People'

Luke Skywalker—aka Mark Hamill—just weighed in on Trump's election, and he does "Star Wars" proud.

"Star Wars" actor Mark Hamill just gave his two cents on the election in a statement that would have made Luke Skywalker proud. Hamill has been outspokenly progressive on a number of topics, including gun control, and now, Donald Trump.

In an interview with The Daily Beast, Hamill commented on the White House representatives Trump has been assembling, including neo-Nazi Stephen Bannon and an assortment of problematic people with offensive histories.

Hamill said in the interview, "If you look at what’s being assembled for our government it’s like, yikes. It’s a who’s-who of really despicable people."

Fans were divided over the statement, with many cheering him on.

While on the Dark Side of Twitter, many alt-right and Trump supporting "Star Wars" fans voiced their complaints.

But should they really be complaining? After all, Bannon himself made the "Star Wars" connection not long ago, literally saying "Darkness is good. Dick Cheney. Darth Vader. Satan. That’s power."

When you have somebody who compares themselves to Satan and Darth Vader about to govern America, a counterpoint from Luke Skywalker seems appropriate.

Hamill also encouraged Americans to embody the bravery and self-sacrifice of the "Star Wars" narrative, saying, "It’s tempting to say, ‘Well, I’m moving to Canada, I can’t stand it.' But in other ways, it’s a challenge to stay and defend your country and do what you think is right and not retreat and hide under the covers. It’s not gonna be easy, that’s for sure."

Thanks, Luke. See you on the other side of the Rebellion.
