1. Erebus Haunted Attraction, Pontiac, Michigan
This Halloween attraction is known as one of the largest in the world. This four-story haunted house offers up some of the most underworld gigantic monsters, crushing walls, and bottomless pits that will have you shaking in your boots.
2. Dent Schoolhouse, Cincinnati, Ohio
At the Dent Schoolhouse, the legend of Charlie the janitor, who killed students that taunted him in the 1950s, still haunts the school. You can take the tour of the school where the children were killed, according to town lore.
3. Hangman's House of Horrors, Forth Worth, Texas
This house of horrors is said to be inspired by the legend of Hezekiah Jones, a murderer who was known as "Hangman." It features Hillbillies Revenge, Cirque de Fantomes, and a wild 3-D funhouse. For those interested in less scary entertainment, the venue includes rides, live music, and karaoke.
4. Fright Factory, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
This ghoulish site that has been featured on the Travel Channel has three terrifying attractions that include the horror high, the village of the damned, and the asylum. Try one or all three if you're up for the scare.
5. Bates Motel & Haunted Hayride, Deleware County, Pennsylvania
You better believe when you check into the Bates motel it will be the creepiest trip you'll ever take. You are sure to get spooked while exploring the gruesome interior of the hotel and definitely frightened when you hop aboard the 20-minute haunted hayride through the forest of nightmarish ghosts, or while you're getting lost in the spine-tingling walkways of the corn maze.
6. Netherworld Haunted House, Norcross, Georgia
This self-guided haunted house tour is known for its unique themes and close attention detail. Since Netherworld is owned by film and TV professionals, the acting, makeup, and costumes are top notch. You definitely won't be disappointed, and you'll have an unforgettable fright night.
7. Haunted Trails, San Diego, California
This haunted trail located in the city's famous Balboa Park is made up of a terrifying walk through the woods that lasts for an entire mile. This all-outdoor Halloween attraction is not for the faint of heart, so come prepared to be scared out of your mind the entire time.
