A teacher at a high school in Texas told his students he couldn’t remember the last time he had received a birthday cake, so the students decided to surprise him with a sweet surprise.
59-year-old Kyle Simpler is an English teacher at Burleson High School in Burleson. He’s evidently made a big impression on his class, because when he said that he couldn’t remember the last time he cut a birthday cake, the class decided to give him a cake he'd never forget.
The kids managed to pull off their plan without the teacher ever figuring it out, and he’s visibly stunned when he walks through the door.
One of his students, Sae, shared a video of his cake reveal on Twitter, which has since racked up over 50,000 retweets.
“Oh my God!” he cried when he saw the classroom decorated with streamers. Everyone started singing “Happy Birthday,” and one of the students ran up to give him a birthday present, and another gave him a card.
Overwhelmed with joy, Simpler said a simple, "Thank you," as he tried to fight back the happy tears.
The video of the surprise has been shared more than 50,000 times on Twitter, with dozens of commenter’s praising the teens for doing something so nice for their teacher. The students took Twitter to write how good Mr. Simpler is to them and how much they all love him.
