In the wake of the Congressional Budget Office analysis proving what a nightmare the American Health Care Act is, dozens of activists converged and marched to House Speaker Paul Ryan’s (who spearheaded Trumpcare) office in Racine, Wisconsin.
Over 250 people, despite subzero temperature and an icy blizzard, campaigned outside the senator’s office for hours and demanded he drop his cruel “health care” plan.
The protesters, organized primarily by three liberal groups, Citizen Action of Wisconsin, Fair Economy Illinois and People's Action, held cat food and dog food — the kind of lunch senior citizens, who can ill afford the expensive medical bills, may resort to eating when Trumpcare comes into effect.
Many of the campaigners shared stories about Obamacare and how its repeal will affect their lives. Many of the people traveled from as far as Chicago to take part in the demonstration.
“This attack on seniors and families will devastate Midwest communities. It is irresponsible and ruthless,” said Anna Marin, manager of civic engagement for the Jane Addams Senior Caucus.
