Crystal Wright — a black author and blogger who also happens to be a proud conservative — has publicly declared that the Democratic Party has made “black Americans poorer, dumber and more criminalized.” (Huh?)
In a recent interview with “Fox and Friends,” Wright said that blacks who vote Democrat are actually voting against their interests.
The real question is...
Wright's latest book, Con Job, claims that “Democrats gave us crime, sanctuary cities, abortion profiteering and racial division.” (Side-eye…)
"I've never seen Barack Obama talk about the black lives being killed by other blacks in Chicago, D.C or Baltimore," she said. "93% of all black homicides are committed by other black people."
Clearly, Wright has been living under a rock because Obama has actually addressed the issue before.
She went on to say that the Democratic Party is “killing black people from the womb to the streets.” She followed that up by throwing out a line about black women making up 40% of all abortions.
That may be so, but you can’t throw out that kind of statistic without acknowledging the other components that lead to such a large percentage.
What about women not having access to health care to receive adequate birth control to prevent unwanted pregnancies? Or a lack of education about birth control because schools in the low-income areas that they likely attended didn’t offer sex ed courses?
The Democratic Party can’t be solely to blame for systemic oppression but at least they understand the dangers of forcing women to bring children into the world that they do not want and/or cannot support.
Believe it or not, she said something even more disturbing when she stated that Donald Trump is the “most pro-black” presidential candidate based on his stance on illegal immigration, as she believes his plans will help with black unemployment.
She must have also missed all the times Trump made racist remarks about blacks and pedaled inaccurate information about crimes committed by black people.
Honestly, when it comes to racial disparity and economic inequality it’s not a Republican vs. Democrat issue, it is society’s issue as a whole.
Neither political party has really done all it can to fix the issues but the Republican Party — specifically, the George W. Bush administration — didn’t even try (Do you remember Hurricane Katrina?).
Furthermore, Trump’s immigration plan involves diminishing the quality of life for a group of people who just want the liberties and opportunities for their families that America boasts about (That whole, "land of the free" thing).
Trump isn't trying to "reform" immigration, he's trying to eradicate it.
Sorry Ms. Wright, but there’s nothing “pro-black” about his agenda.
