When his girlfriend refused to express her affection, Rudolph Battaglia responded in kind.
Battaglia, living in Delray Beach, was arrested after he allegedly pushed his new live-in girlfriend and cut her thumb when she declined to kiss him goodnight.
The 59-year-old man is now held in Palm Beach County and facing charges of battery with a bail of $10,000.
The couple got into a fight after his girlfriend said, “I already gave you one,” when he asked for a kiss. Battaglia reportedly turned furious and shoved the woman harshly on the bed. When she tried to get away from him, he picked up a crystal decoration, broke it and brandished it towards the woman stating, “I am going to cut you in the private area and kill you,” the police report said.
The woman sustained a cut on her thumb after Battaglia slammed the glass on the table. By the time the police came to arrest Battaglia, he had vanished. However, the cops were able to track him down later and place him in custody.
The couple has been in an on-and-off relationship for the past five years. The woman said she had recently moved to the place to live with the Battaglia.
This isn’t the first time Battaglia has acted out of line. A sexual offender registry shows the man was found guilty in 1983 of "lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age.”
Battaglia sexually molested his step daughter first in 1981 and then again in 1982. He was later convicted after his wife testified, over hearsay objections, about what her daughter had recounted to her.
