Donald Trump Feasted On Courses Named After Him On Thanksgiving

The Trump family indulged in 24 dishes at their Mar-a-Lago mansion. Menu items included Middle Neck Clams, Red Wine-Braised Short Ribs, and Toasted Coconut Cake.

It seems president-elect Donald Trump had a very happy Thanksgiving, consuming a whopping 24-dish meal at his estate in Palm Beach. And, hilariously, a couple of them were named after him, NBC News reports.

The two specific dishes were called "Mr. Trump's Wedge Salad" (seriously) and "Three-Layer Trump Chocolate Cake."

Other foodstuffs on the menu included Large Florida Stone Crabs, Local Vegetable Minestrone Soup, Farm-Fresh Deviled Eggs, Warm Chocolate Brownie Pockets, and one giant course of Herb-Marinated Beef Tenderloin, Steamed Vegetables, Whipped Potatoes, Warm Popovers, and Horseradish Cream. Whew.

The family's lavish Thanksgiving affair was guarded by 150 Secret Service workers, which, despairingly, costs about $7 million in taxes. Awesome!

Prior to the holiday, Trump posted a message to his followers on Twitter.

"It's my prayer that on this Thanksgiving, we begin to heal our divisions and move forward as one country, strengthened by shared purpose and very, very common resolve," Trump said. "In declaring this national holiday, President Lincoln called upon Americans to speak with one voice and one heart. That's just what we have to do."

Furthermore, Trump encouraged restoring "the bonds of trust between citizens."

"Let us give thanks for all we have, and let us boldly face the exciting new frontiers that lie ahead," he said.

Exciting, indeed.
