Trump Is Upset Melissa McCarthy, A Woman, Portrayed Sean Spicer On SNL

A source close to Donald Trump said the president’s biggest problem with Melissa McCarthy’s Sean Spicer skit was that she was a woman portraying a man.

It would be an understatement to say that President Donald Trump is not a huge fan of “Saturday Night Live.”

He absolutely hates it — which is not surprising considering how for the past few months the satirical show has humiliated the new commander-in-chief with true-to-life sketches and so-accurate-it's-almost-creepy caricatures.

To be honest, Alec Baldwin’s outstanding impersonation of the billionaire baron on SNL had been the only highlight of this presidency until Melissa McCarthy came along with her groundbreaking portrayal of White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer.

The sketch, featuring unhinged Spicer attacking journalists, was so accurate it almost felt like watching a real press briefing (which is a troubling thought on its own). McCarthy’s spot was dubbed one of the best satirical skits ever and she received worldwide applaud for staying in character even when everyone else watching could barely breathe through laughter.

However, Trump, as expected, was not happy.

The business mogul has slammed Baldwin more than once for impersonating him. But this time around, his reason for loathing the Spicer sketch was a little different and much more appalling.

“More than being lampooned as a press secretary who makes up facts, it was Spicer’s portrayal by a woman that was most problematic in the president’s eyes,” said a source close to Trump, according to the Politico.

Keeping in mind the president’s history of blatant sexism and his insecurities regarding his administration, the statement is not hard to believe.

After all, McCarthy, a woman, dressed in drag to play an aggressive man who happens to be Trump’s press secretary.

“Trump doesn’t like his people to look weak,” a donor reportedly said.

The news broke out shortly after Spicer himself commented on the viral sketch.

“I'd rather us be talking about the issues that the president is so committed to helping Americans on,” he said, calling McCarthy’s impersonation “cute.”

“But you know, it's a part of American culture,” Spicer continued before jokingly suggesting the “Bridesmaid” actress “needs to slow down on the gum chewing; way too many pieces in there.”

If only Trump could display the same sportsmanship.

On the bright side, the hullabaloo around the skit may have paved way from something even greater: Rosie O’Donnell, Trump’s arch nemesis, might end up playing the White House chief strategist and apparent puppet master, Steven Bannon, on SNL.

Trump is certainly not going to recover from this one.
