Trump Is Literally The Devil According To Time Magazine

Time magazine named President-elect Donald Trump as its "Person of the Year," for having the greatest influence on world events during the course of 2016.

As if President-elect Donald Trump’s ego wasn’t already sizable enough, he’s got another feather in his cap as Time magazine has named him the “Person of the Year.”

The title is not inherently congratulatory because among the 90 times Time has named a person, it has also included Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Richard Nixon, and Vladmir Putin.

This year, the publication has cited the “upheaval in American politics brought about by the election campaign and victory of the New York businessman” as the reason for their choice

No matter how you feel about him, it’s undeniable that Trump — a man with no political experience, almost no establishment support, and a litany of scandals — was able to emerge victorious.

His out-of-nowhere campaign and his looming administration is, in many ways, threatening to disrupt the global order that has existed for decades.

“Trump’s victory represents a long-overdue rebuke to an entrenched and arrogant governing class,” Time said in its announcement.

Conversely, the magazine wrote that it represents the destruction of “cherished norms of civility and discourse, a politics poisoned by vile streams of racism, sexism, nativism.”

Following the announcement, Trump told NBC’s “Today Show" that "It's a great honor, it means a lot."

His response is ironic because Trump has, on more than one occasion, slammed Time magazine for various reasons.

The announcement also comes nearly a year to the day that he called out the magazine, claiming that it would never pick him as a person of the year.

Twitter was quick to react to the announcement, with some observant users pointing out that Time had given him prominent “devil horns” on the cover, while others indulged their Photoshop prowess.
