As his day to take position in the White House fast approaches, President-elect Donald Trump is busy appointing like-minded people to significant positions in his cabinet.
In a recent announcement, the business mogul has chosen Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to head the Environmental Protection Agency. The selection has people extremely concerned, since Pruitt has been an active participant in the battle against President Barack Obama’s climate change policies.
He has not only been a close ally of the fossil fuel industry, but has also denounced climate change as a hoax.
"Pruitt is a pure product of the oil and gas industry, installed in successive government posts to sell out his constituents at every turn," said Greenpeace spokesman Travis Nichols."He will push this country far behind the rest of the world in the race for 21st century clean energy. With Scott Pruitt as head of the EPA, the people and the environment will be in the hands of a man who cares about neither.”
Throughout his campaign, Trump denied climate change and threatened to dismantle the EPA. It seemed like he was determined to dismantle President Obama’s attempts toward countering climate change. Now with Pruitt also on board, one cannot help but wonder what the future looks like.

Trump's nominee to lead EPA, Scott Pruitt, is a climate denier who's worked closely with the fossil fuel industry. That's sad and dangerous.— Bernie Sanders (@SenSanders) December 7, 2016

This is not first time the president-elect’s choice has people questioning what the next four years will look like.
Soon after his election, Trump chose alt-right white nationalist Steve Bannon as his chief strategist, which had people wondering if he intended to “Make America Great Again” or in fact “Make America White Again.”
He later appointed South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, prompting questions why he would choose someone totally inexperienced in the field over other tested and proven alternatives.
Only time will determine where America is headed with all these concerning picks to the White House.
