Did Donald Trump Steal Tips From Employees? One Staffer Says So

Donald Trump’s vileness is not a new phenomenon. The Republican front-runner has a habit of robbing people of their basic rights.

Everyone pretty much knows how Donald Trump has no respect whatsoever for other people’s basic rights. A newly unearthed lawsuit, however, proves he also doesn't mind allegedly robbing people of them, if they work for him.

Deborah Garcia, a former catering staff member at the Trump SoHo Hotel, is reportedly suing Donald Trump and daughter Ivanka and son Donald Trump Jr., for withholding tips — a mandatory 22 percent fee included in the customers’ bills.

"A reasonable customer would believe that the service was in fact a gratuity for [Garcia] and similarly situated employees," states the lawsuit, which was filed in Suffolk County Supreme Court on Feb. 13, 2015, according to DNA Info. But the owners, instead, “retained the money for their own benefit" — a violation of state labor law, the lawsuit says.

Garcia claims she worked at the hotel in 2013 as part of a 40-member team that handled weddings, birthdays and other events. Trump SoHo, on the other hand, said in a statement that Garcia wasn’t directly employed by its management.

"The lawsuit filed in 2015, is entirely a reflection of the responsibility of the third-party contractor," the hotel said in a statement, DNA Info reports. "The plaintiff has never been a staff member of the Trump Soho Hotel. She was contracted by a third party but was never directly employed by Trump Soho Hotel."

This isn’t the first time Trump has had difficulties with his workers. Just last month, employees at his Nevada hotel picketed outside their employer’s building, demanding their right to form a union.
