Ever since President Barack Obama announced his executive actions to reduce gun violence in an emotional speech, the right-wing has been ripping him to shreds.
They've excused him of tyranny, claimed his tears were insincere and denounced the effectiveness of his plans before they have even been implemented.

The worst of all was probably the fear-mongering image Ted Cruz’s campaign released featuring the POTUS in combat gear with the tagline, “Obama Wants Your Guns.”
Well, perhaps the results of this CNN poll will shut these people up for good.
It turns out there is actually widespread support for Obama’s plans among Americans.
More than 1,000 Americans from various political parties participated in the poll with most saying they are in favor of the executive actions to expand background checks and more explicitly define a “gun dealer" in an effort to keep firearms out of the hands of irresponsible and/or mentally ill people.
Across party lines, 85% of Democrats expressed their support as well as 65% of Independents and 51% of Republicans, according to CNN.
That's right ... more than half of the Republicans surveyed said they are in FAVOR of Obama’s gun control measures, along with 57% of gun owners.
Take that, Ted Cruz!
The only piece of the puzzle that the majority of those surveyed (54%) disagreed with is the president’s decision to implement these changes through executive orders rather than going through Congress.
The partisan divide shows 78% of Democrats are okay with Obama using executive actions while 79% of Republicans and 61% of Independents are in opposition.
This is understandable because of the value Americans place on honoring the democratic process to ensure our leaders don’t abuse their power, but Democrats evidently trust that Obama is making this move with America’s best interest at heart.
It has also been proven several times before that the gun lobby is very powerful and will certainly persuade Congress to shut down gun control efforts. Obama — who is clearly affected very deeply by the amount of gun violence in the U.S. — just could no longer sit back with his hands tied by Congress.
Nevertheless, the crucial point that this poll reveals is that most Americans do believe in the need for improved gun laws despite the GOP's rigorous attempts to push their own agendas by scaring people into thinking Obama wants to take their rights away and abuse his powers.
