Survivors of the chaotic Emirates flight crash deserved some positive news in their lives after the incident and for one survivor, it came in a large sum of money.
Mohammad Basheer Abdul Khadar, 62, was on board the flight when it skidded on the runway and burst into flames, upon arriving in Dubai. Despite the severity of the crash-landing, only 13 passengers were injured and one firefighter killed responding to the situation, CNN reported.
Khadar purchased a lottery ticket last month prior to the tragic incident and found out this week that he won $1 million in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire drawing.
The 62-year-old praised God for watching over him during the crash and in his recent lotto winnings.
“I feel like God gave me a second life when I survived the plane crash, and blessed me with this money to follow all this up by doing good things,” Khadar said.
Khadar is set to retire from his job as an employee with a car dealership in Dubai and use his new financial earnings to move to India to help other people in need.
“I am blessed to have finally won with Dubai Duty Free and can’t wait to share the news with my family. If you ask me about my plans, I obviously want to help the children in Kerala who are less fortunate than others and need some financial help and medical support,” he said.
It’s heartwarming to know that this survivor is given financial happiness shortly after a devastating incident.
