Ex-CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals Martin Shkreli endorsed the GOP front-runner Donald Trump Thursday night, stating he supports Trump over his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton.
The “pharma bro” turned to Twitter to announce his support and in doing so, gave the real estate mogul some advice on how he should pick his vice president.
I haven't been called by the Trump camp. I support him vs. Hillary. He should find a VP candidate who is seasoned in politics, an ugly game.— Martin Shkreli (@MartinShkreli) May 27, 2016
The news shouldn’t come as surprise to those who are familiar with Shkreli’s disreputable past. The former exec became “the most hated man in America” when he jacked up the price of a life-saving HIV drug called Darpin by more than 5,000 percent last year, and proudly boasted about his profits on social media.
Since then, Shkreli has been in the news in a bad way, earning ridicule for everything he has done, from bidding for Kanye West’s “Life of Pablo” album to blaming his arrest on media.
However, Trump might not be all enthusiastic to have him on board.
“He looks like a spoiled brat to me,” Trump told reporters at a press conference in South Carolina last year. “You want to know the truth? He looks like a spoiled brat.”
But knowing Trump and his penchant for picking the worst possible people for his endorsements, it won’t be a surprise if he backtracks on his words and welcomes Shkreli with open arms.
After all, birds of a feather…
