This Fox News Anchor Has Had Enough Of Trump: 'It's Absolutely Crazy'

Is Fox News’ unwavering support for Trump starting to show some cracks or is Shepard Smith the only one with enough guts to speak out against him?

President Donald Trump wrapped up his first solo press conference (a 77-minute public meltdown, to be honest) with a special shout out to his favorite, Fox News — the network that caters specifically to him and his equally volatile supporters.

However, it looks like the conservative network’s unwavering support for the business mogul is starting to chip away, because a furious Fox anchor just eviscerated the president on national television and then, in a rare show of honest journalism, called on Trump to answer valid questions from the news outlets he has conveniently deemed “fake news.”

“It’s sort of our job to let you know when things are said that aren’t true,” anchor Shepard Smith began. “This president keeps telling untrue things and he does it every single time he’s in front of a microphone … some of them aren’t really big, but they’re coming from the president.”

The former host of “Fox Report with Shepard Smith” then slammed Trump for not answering the biggest question on everyone’s mind: his ties with Russia.

“He says Russia is a ruse, it's fake news. The leaks are real, but the news is fake. So, that’s impossible,” he stated.

The 53-year-old did not let his job at Fox News hold him back from defending CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta, who was mocked by Trump during the press conference. In fact, Smith called him a “good reporter” and blasted the commander-in-chief for trying to delegitimize negative stories about his chaotic government.

“It's absolutely crazy,” Smith continued. “He keeps repeating ridiculous throwaway lines that are not true at all and sort of avoiding this issue of Russia as if we're some kind of fools for asking the question. Really?”

Refusing to mince his words, the anchor then said what the entire country has been thinking since The New York Times released the bombshell report on how Trump aides were in contact with Russian intelligence during the 2016 election campaign.

“Your opposition was hacked and the Russians were responsible for it, and your people were on the phone with Russia on the same day it’s happening, and we’re fools for asking the questions?” Smith added, before turning to the camera to address Trump directly. “No, sir, we’re not fools for asking the questions, and we demand to know the answer to this question. You owe this to the American people.”

Considering this brutally honest takedown was not something people were expecting from Fox News, the reaction on social media was understandably massive.
