Hillary Clinton’s election loss to a man who is accused of committing sexual assault by at least 12 women, avoided paying taxes for over 18 years and lied about it, allegedly committed various acts of fraud in the name of charity and education and has no political experience whatsoever has obviously upset a lot of her supporters.
However, one New York mother’s chance encounter with the former Democratic presidential nominee will cheer you up.
Margot Gerster, who was "heartbroken" by Clinton's loss, went on a hike and ran into the former secretary of state herself.
"I've been feeling so heartbroken since yesterday's election and decided what better way to relax than take my girls hiking," Margot Gerster wrote in a Facebook post.
Gerster, who was hiking in Chappaqua, near Clinton’s residence, said Clinton was with former President Bill Clinton with their dogs.
"All I wanted to do is hug her," she told NBC News.
"She looked wonderful. She was taking a nice peaceful hike with her dogs," she added.
Oh, and Bill Clinton took their photo, in case you’re wondering.
Gerster, though disappointed from the election’s outcome, said “one of my most proudest moments as a mother" was taking her daughter to cast a vote for Clinton.
"She hugged me and thanked me and we exchanged some sweet pleasantries and then I let them continue their walk," the mom added.
Clinton’s appearance comes nearly two days after her concession speech, which inspired many across the country, especially women.
“I know we have still not shattered that highest and hardest glass ceiling, but someday, someone will, and hopefully sooner than we might think right now."
"And to all the little girls who are watching this, never doubt that you are valuable and powerful and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world to pursue and to achieve your own dreams."
