A Missouri Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, Courtland Sykes, has come under fire for posting an incredibly sexist, hateful and outright outrageous statement on Facebook in response to a question from an interview he gave back in 2017. In the post, Sykes said he was asked for his stance on “women’s rights” and told his social media followers his fiancée, Chanel, had “ordered” him to respect women’s rights.
However, he then added his fiancée knows he wants “to come home to a home-cooked dinner at six every night — one that she fixes and one that I expect one day to have daughters learn to fix after they become traditional homemakers and family wives.”
Sykes continued to talk about the expectations he has for his daughters. He made it clear he doesn’t want them to grow up into "career-obsessed banshees who forego home life and children and the happiness of family to become nail-biting manophobic[sic] hell-bent feminist she-devils who shriek from the tops of a thousand tall buildings they think they could have leaped over in a single bound — had men not ‘suppressing them.’”
The candidate also bashed Democrats and claimed millennial women didn’t respect former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton because of her “personal life’s wreckage.”
Sykes ranted about being a woman rights’ supporter, but he cleared he did not have “the kind ‘mean-spirited radical feminists’ support” to offer.
“But good news,” he celebrated. “They’re finished. Ask Hillary.”
The Missouri Republican — who is not even backed up by President Donald Trump — apparently still lives in the ‘50s with his “traditional homemakers and family wives” beliefs.
His misogynistic post started a clamor on social media.
wow!!! someone please tell #CourtlandSykes that it’s 2018 not 1818. i think he’s stuck in a time warp. and as a helpful hint if you HIRE a personal chef and pay him/her a lot of money you can have your dinner ready on command. maybe. i feel very sorry for your girlfriend.— kw :) (@rigbysmom1) January 25, 2018
#CourtlandSykes GOP Sen candidate, slavery advocate & for taking women back to the 1950s kitchen. Dear @SykesforSenate, if a woman CHOOSES that life for herself, GREAT! It's HER choice. P.S. We've only just begun; we're not going away, and neither did Hillary #Women #Missouri https://t.co/xyM3cZLinF— JodieLaine (@NanaWithSoul) January 25, 2018
Regarding women's rights, Jurassiac era Republican U.S. Senate candidate for Missouri #CourtlandSykes wants to come home to a home cooked meal every night.— slc (@Syndeess) January 25, 2018
So get a crockpot. #Misogynist https://t.co/CiMhQXP66A
#CourtlandSykes Who are you to decide what women's lives should be? If your fiancé wants to cook for you and be traditional, her choice. Stop being threatened by women who choose other ways to live their lives. It's always her choice; everything she does is her choice. #Missouri https://t.co/XWDwPw4NMt— Rachel M. Now, I'm no expert, but if your answer to the question 'Do you favor Women's rights?' is not 'Yes', but a statement that's six paragraphs long, you're a fuckboy. #CourtlandSykes pic.twitter.com/bI6ZQOgoT7— Luna (@thinmintsfiend) January 25, 2018
People have also predicted Sykes’ future.
Prediction: he going to be arrested for domestic violence one day and his girlfriend will one day get a restraining order on him. #CourtlandSykes— Astorix #FBR ???????????? (@Astorix23) January 25, 2018
Some even asked what his mother thinks about this.
Guys, of course he wants a home-cooked meal from a ladyslave. Like, what kind of upbringing do you think this guy had. He was clearly named after local stripmall and his campaign photo has him confused with a Danielle Steel cover. #CourtlandSykes pic.twitter.com/sQcNYuQ4ts— Gail Folsom (@ClockworkROSE) January 25, 2018

People have also started hashtag #SaveChanel for Sykes’ fiancée.
It is also important to note Sykes supported alleged pedophile and child molester Roy Moore during the Senate elections in Alabama last year.
