Mitt Romney Challenges Donald Trump Over Tax Returns
Former Massachusetts governor demands of transparent tax returns are not sitting well with Donald Trump.Posted by carbonated.tv on Thursday, February 25, 2016
Mitt Romney has called on all GOP presidential hopefuls to release their tax returns, putting a special emphasis on Donald Trump making his financials transparent.
"I think in Donald Trump's case it's likely to be a bombshell," the former Massachusetts governor said in an interview with Fox News.
Romney claimed the GOP frontrunner’s reluctance to be transparent about his tax returns may be because he is lying about his net worth.
In 2012, opponents of the then-Republican presidential nominee Romney repeatedly called on him to release his tax returns, an issue that kept overshadowing his campaign.

However, the media mogul was not amused by Romney’s tactics. In a series of tweets, he has explicitly explained why he thinks the former Massachusetts governor is a loser of epic proportions.
It’s ironic that Romney is demanding Trump’s tax details as he himself was a target of similar claims in 2012. At that time, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid suggested Romney may not have paid taxes for 10 years — to which Romney replied, "Harry Reid really has to put up or shut up."
