Activist and actress Rosario Dawson, along with Nomiki Konst and Linda Sarsour, recently sat down with Cenk Uygur of “The Young Turks” to discuss their activism and support for the Bernie Sanders campaign.
Dawson, Sarsour, and Konst had more than their share of criticism for Hillary Clinton, but Dawson made an extremely cogent point concerning the former secretary of state’s hypocrisy in terms of foreign policy.
Konst brought up her frustration that the “[Democrats] don’t want to touch Hillary Clinton’s record in the State Department. And it’s not good. It’s not good at all.”
Dawson agreed, noting the blatant hypocrisy Clinton has shown in her foreign policy record and her excessive praise for Israel:
“Trump is a horrible person because he wants to put a wall between [the U.S.] and Mexico. But that’s okay with [Hillary] when Netanyahu says he wants to do that between Israelis and Palestinians?”
“It reminds me of another secretary of state who said 500,000 dead Iraqi children were worth it. And I don’t understand [how Hillary is] good with children and women’s rights when [she] clearly hasn’t interviewed any Syrian children or Honduran children or Libyan children or Iraqi children. Why don’t they count? What is this line that is drawn?”
Dawson is incredibly accurate. Clinton has said she will be more “muscular” than President Obama with her foreign policy, and this undoubtedly involves being biased toward Israel rather than considering the conflict in a balanced manner, as she expressed in her AIPAC speech.
