Trump Official Calls Veteran Journalist April Ryan ‘Miss Piggy’

Eric Trump's wedding planner, who now heads HUD, only apologized after her remarks unleashed criticism online.

The Trump's administration's disregard for the press is well-documented, however, a top official from the Department of Housing and Urban Development took this disrespect one step further when she referred to a veteran White House journalist as "Miss Piggy" in a series of tweets.

Lynne Patton, who leads the HUD offices in New York and New Jersey, mocked April Ryan by calling her “Miss Piggy” and a “bankrupt blogger.”

It is unclear how it all started between the two; however, both roasted each other after Ryan asked Patton who she is.

Ryan, who also works as the Washington bureau chief for American Urban Radio Networks, fired back, telling Patton how “irrelevant” she is.

Patton did not stop and called her a “blogger working for a bankrupt outlet.” Ryan took no time slamming Patton — a long-time event planner of the Trump family, who also planned Eric Trump’s wedding.

Patton later deleted the tweet on her own “choice” where she referred to Ryan as “Miss Piggy” and also issued an apology saying it was “beneath” her. She went on to say that she regrets her response.

However, many people have rejected her apology and are asking her to step down. Some even believe she was not eligible for the post in the first place, given her lack of qualifications. Here is how the people reacted to the Twitter argument and Patton’s insulting remarks.

President Donald Trump appointed Patton as the head of HUD last June. Apart from planning Eric Trump’s wedding, Patton has coordinated celebrity golf tournaments at Trump’s courses (apparently this made her a potential candidate for the post she possesses). She was also a vice president of Eric Trump Foundation from 2011 through January 2017.
