Seth Meyers Confronts Kellyanne Conway Over Alleged Russian Blackmail

Kellyanne Conway had a slight misfortune of appearing on Seth Meyers’ show the same day CNN published about Russian spies having blackmail material on Trump.

The same day CNN published an explosive story about Russian spies allegedly possessing compromising information about President-elect Donald Trump and BuzzFeed actually went ahead and published the dossier detailing the claims, Trump campaign manager was scheduled to appear on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

Kellyanne Conway, whose primary job entails cleaning up the mess that her boss leaves behind almost every time he opens his mouth, unsurprisingly to use the opportunity to condemn the intelligence leak and inadvertently dig herself (and Trump) into a deeper hole.

While the interview began with Conway praising the incoming commander-in-chief, host Seth Meyers did not take long to turn the conversation toward the allegations about Russian operatives having blackmail material on Trump.

“As an American citizen...we should be concerned that intelligence officials leaked to the press and won’t go tell the president-elect or the president of the United States what the information is,” said Conway — despite the fact that CNN claimed the intelligence officials had briefed Obama and Trump on the matter.

“But the press report was about them going to the president,” Meyers interjected firmly. “I believe it said they did brief him on it.”

Therefore, in order to set up her (rather flimsy) defense, Conway claimed the information was included at the bottom of an intelligence briefing.

“He has said he’s not aware of that,” Conway said, to which Meyers responded, “That concerns me.”
