Stevie Wonder made it clear that he is “with her” — and ripped Donald Trump apart in the process.
The 25-time Grammy Award winning musician, who has been blind since birth, compared the idea of voting for the Republican presidential nominee to him driving a car.
“If you had an emergency situation and needed to go to the hospital, and you had to get there right away, would you want me driving your car?” he asked the reporter from Philly.com following his performance at “Get Out the Vote” concert for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in Philadelphia.
The reporter responded with “no.”
“Because I’m not an experienced driver, right?” the 66-year-old singer added.
He then went on to praise the former secretary of state on her decades of experience, which alone makes her a better candidate than her opponent, whose political track record is limited to supporting the birther movement against President Barack Obama.
“So my belief is that Hillary is an experienced person of the government, and she has spent 30 years with a commitment,” Wonder continued. “Not to mention that her parents taught her in a kinder way, to have respect and love for all people. That’s the person I want to govern, to be the leader of this nation.”
The musician also slammed the foul-mouthed billionaire for spewing hate against Muslims and Latinos and for his inappropriate remarks about women, adding he would hate to have the “last years of my life in a place of pessimism” with Trump sitting in the Oval Office.
“This is not a reality show. This is life in reality,” the music icon concluded. “So I’m with her because I believe in where we are, and where we are going to go. I have always believed that America is great. We’re just going to make it greater.”
Considering how apt the comparison was, Twitterati had a lot to say:
