Trump Cannot Differentiate Between Refugees And ‘Illegal Immigrants’

Trump has slammed the Obama administration’s refugee deal with Australia calling it “dumb,” but he is ignorant to several facts about it.

In another Twitter rant, President Donald Trump called the Obama administration’s refugee deal with Australia “dumb.”

However, it appears that the president, who thinks he is all-knowing and wise, doesn’t know the basic difference between refugees and “illegal immigrants.”

A refugee is someone who is forced to leave their country due to unavoidable reasons, and goes through legal channels and an extensive screening process before being let into another country. On the other hand, an undocumented or illegal immigrant is one who bypasses the law and enters the country without providing any documents or background check.

Moreover, Trump also mentioned that “the Obama Administration agreed to take thousands of illegal immigrants from Australia” whereas the deal states that only approximately 1,200 refugees from Australia would be resettled in the U.S.

The POTUS further stated that he would “study the dumb deal,” which is something he should have done prior to the phone call with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, which he abruptly ended by slamming the phone down just after insulting Turnbull.

His numerous Twitter rants and misleading statements, time and again, prove that he is ignorant, and refuses to come out of the bubble he is living in. As the president of the U.S., Trump has a responsibility to check facts and use proper terms before passing inappropriate statements.
