On Monday night, Donald Trump made a final appeal to voters in Manchester, New Hampshire before the primaries began on Tuesday. Trump, who is dominating the New Hampshire polls, followed up on comments he made during Saturday’s Republican presidential debate.
Trump expressed enthusiasm for unconstitutional methods of interrogation such as waterboarding during the debate (which has been classified as torture), and he doubled down on this position as he spoke to the Manchester crowd. He blasted Sen. Ted Cruz for not supporting torture as well.
In response, a woman yelled that, “He’s a p*ssy!” Trump asked her to repeat herself, then replied sarcastically, “I never expect to hear that from you again! She said: 'He's a p*ssy.' That's terrible,” as the crowd laughed and applauded in approval.
Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson defended the vulgar slur by comparing Trump to the Founding Fathers: “When we look at the Founding Fathers and when they were competing, they said far worse things about each other. This is not nothing [sic] new. This is politics.”
Trump has previously insulted Fox News host Megyn Kelly in a similar manner—not calling her a “bimbo” outright, but instead tweeting, “I refuse to call Megyn Kelly a bimbo, because that would not be politically correct.”
He has also said Hillary Clinton was “schlonged” by Obama.
Mic News later contacted the woman who initially made the comment, and she said in response to the situation that, “[Trump’s] got the balls the size of watermelons, whereas [Cruz has] got the balls of little grapes."
This is the sort of complex thinker that a Trump rally attracts.
