Apparently, fans of President Donald Trump live in the same alternate universe as his entire administration.
Charla McComic of Tennessee has attributed her family’s decreased insurance costs to the Republican health care bill, which has not yet gone into effect.
According to Raw Story, after McComic’s son lost his job, his health insurance premium drastically dropped from $567 per month to $88. She described her son’s reduced payment as “a blessing from God” and a gift from POTUS.
Alas, we all know it is not a gift from Trump considering the Affordable Care Act — implemented by Barack Obama — is still in place.
McComic, 52, believes that the change is a result of the tax credits that would be offered under “Trumpcare” should Congress approve it — which, again, has not happened yet.
It’s actually “Obamacare” that offers income-based coverage or Medicaid for people with low or no income, such as McComic’s son.
Still apparently unaware that “Trumpcare” has not been implemented, McComic told The Washington Post that she is not concerned about her son or her toddler granddaughter losing their Medicaid under the Republican-backed health care plan.
“So far, everything’s been positive, from what I can tell,” she said. “I just hope that more and more people and children get covered under this new health-care plan.”
It is quite clear that Trump supporters are blindly trusting in him, and he is certainly using that to his advantage. It won’t be long before these fervid fans learn that ignorance is not bliss.
