Trump Supporter Says ‘Black Lives Don’t Matter’ In Racist Tirade

A white Trump supporter was recorded hurling racist slurs and saying that “black lives don’t matter” during a road rage incident in Memphis, Tennessee.

WARNING: This video contains graphic language that may not be suitable for all viewers.

It’s 2016 and this still happens in America.

Brandon Levston, 29, was berated with racial slurs and Donald Trump’s name during a road rage incident in Memphis, Tennessee, which was recorded on video.

Levston told WMC-TV that the man became angry complaining that Levston had sped up and gone around him, causing him to slam on his brakes at a traffic light.

Levston, who is black, pulled over his car and began recording as the man walked up to his vehicle shouting Trump’s name before launching into the racist rant.

“Hey, Trump! Trump all the way,” he says approaching Levston’s vehicle. “Trump! Because, hey — check this out. Check it out, because I got you. Black lives don’t matter — there ain’t no proof. Just because you say something don’t mean nothing.”

The man, who reveals that he has children in the car, tells Levston that he would have “smashed” him if he hadn’t been recording the encounter.

Talk about courage.

At one point in the four-plus-minute video, a woman in the white driver's car tries to join the argument, but the man cuts her off, telling her, "Hey, hey, let me handle this, be a woman," and slams the car door.

But just as it seems that the man is done with his racist spiel, Levston then goads him a little further.

“Teach me a little bit more about black people,” he said.

The man replies, “Black people were bought by a contract, and we got ripped off. Because y'all should've got returned when there was evidence and proof that y'all couldn't do anything, because y'all live off welfare.”

It’s admirable that Levston kept his composure during the horrific diatribe, telling the man, “I appreciate this Sunday entertainment. You have no clue how much I appreciate it.”

At the end of the video, Levston turns the camera towards himself and says, “That's exactly why y'all need to get out and vote. If you ever needed proof of why you need to get out and be heard, go f**** vote.”

While the white man’s identity has not been confirmed, Levston’s video has already been viewed more than 2 million times.

Donald Trump

The incident is indicative of how Donald Trump’s rhetoric has given voice to bigots and racists around the country who previously felt it was taboo to voice their opinions.

Trump’s strategy in this election has been to mobilize the small section of America which still refuses to accept that its views on race don’t apply anymore in modern America.

He has re-tweeted white supremacists on a number of occasions and failed to disavow David Duke of the KKK during an appearance on CNN.

While it’s not surprising that such people still exist in America, the video is still unbelievably shocking.

Coming just a day before polls open, it’s a stark reminder of what’s at stake in this election.

If anything, everyone needs to follow Levston’s advice.

Being shocked doesn’t cut it any more. It’s time to go and vote.
