On Tuesday, in an interview with ABC’s David Muir, Republican running mates Donald Trump and Mike Pence spoke about their strategy to “divide and conquer” for the last leg of their campaign.
Trump took the opportunity to publicly humiliate Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton, asserting in his usual layman’s terms that she doesn’t have the “presidential look.” He’s been calling her “Crooked Hillary” for most of his presidential campaign and is now citing her appearance as a reason not to vote for her.
Trump doubled down on his previous assertion that Clinton lacks the “stamina” and physical appearance to be president. He said, “I just don’t think she has a presidential look. And you need a presidential look… I really do believe that.”
Trump also commented that her running mate, Tim Kaine, was void of the presidential look, which, according to Trump, is absolutely necessary. Some have interpreted Trump’s comment as sexist, following his usual trajectory of misogynistic statements.
Twitter users took Trump’s assertion to poke fun at the candidate, posting the most ridiculous pictures they could find of him and sarcastically commenting how “presidential” he looks.

Clinton's campaign responded to Trump's insult on Tuesday afternoon. Christina Reynolds, a communications deputy for Hillary For America, said, "This isn't the first time Donald Trump has had a problem looking at someone different from himself and actually seeing them."
