Security Guard Survives After Typhoon Blows Away His Entire Cabin

Surveillance footage shows the guard struggling to get up after the strong winds blew away his parking lot office while he was sitting inside.

More than 50,000 people in southern China have been relocated away from the path of Typhoon Haima, which killed at least 13 people in the Philippines before moving northward.

However, one security guard was lucky enough to survive the typhoon.

The CCTV video, filmed in Shanwei in Guangdong Province on Friday, shows a parking lot booth falling over during the powerful storm while a guard was sitting inside it.

The structure flew away leaving the man shocked on the floor. Fortunately, he suffered no injuries.

Residents in the cities of Shanwei and Shantou, in China’s Guangdong province, were forced to move to safer ground as the storm hit, local authorities and state media reported.

Some villages experienced power outages and authorities remained on the lookout for possible landslides.

More than 700 flights were canceled or delayed during the weekend.

The typhoon, though now weakened, still affects the eastern city of Shanghai, bringing plenty of heavy rain with it.
