Explained: Constitutional Rights Of Undocumented Immigrants

Undocumented immigrants may not be able to buy firearms and such, but they still have constitutional rights, which many of them may not know about.

The current political climate and President Donald Trump’s deportation threats may have left undocumented immigrants feeling like criminals.

Incidents of racial and xenophobic harassment witnessed a dramatic uptick in the days following Trump’s unexpected election win, emboldening racists and bigots everywhere to pester members of minority communities — which also included those who entered the U.S. illegally in search of a better future.  

Sadly, what most people fail to realize is that undocumented immigrants too have constitutional rights. They may not be able to buy firearms and apply for driver's licenses (in some states, at least), but they are still protected under the law.
