During a short interview with the hosts of MSNBC's Morning Joe, Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton said that he believes Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump could be a very “serious leader,” at least compared to Hillary Clinton.
Cotton began the interview by criticizing President Barack Obama, saying that he should have rushed back to the United States after the attack in Brussels to “keep us safe.”
He then said that he had spoken with Trump about the NATO spending, explaining how he didn’t quite agree with his policies.
Other than that, though, it seems that be believes Trump could be a “serious leader” as the commander in chief.
“Did you leave that room thinking that’s a man who could be commander in chief?” host Willie Geist asked Cotton.
“Well, I do think he could be the commander in chief,” Cotton said. “He’s one of our leading candidates, right now and, as I said, would be a better commander and chief — they’d be a more serious leader for our country than Hillary Clinton is.”
Hillary Clinton has her flaws, sure, but it’s highly debatable that Trump would be a more serious leader. Take one of the most basic examples: Trump began bringing up his penis size during a very serious GOP debate, saying, “Look at those hands. Are they small hands? And he referred to my hands — if they're small, something else must be small. I guarantee you there's no problem, I guarantee."
He then began incessantly calling Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio “little Marco.”
That kind of “serious” thinking would certain work for foreign policies!
