Woman Falls Three Floors Into A Trash Compactor While Fishing For Keys

Would you risk falling into a trash compactor and breaking your leg for $20 bucks? A middle-aged Massachusetts woman did.

A 19-year-old resident in Salem, Massachusetts, reportedly paid a 38-year-old woman $20 in the early morning hours on Monday to help him retrieve keys that he had accidentally dropped down into an apartment building’s trash chute.

NBC reported that the teenager first dangled the woman by her feet down into the garbage chute in order to fetch the lost keys, but she wasn’t able to reach them. So, they tried something else which was equally idiotic.

Using a sheet wrapped around the woman’s leg, the teen then lowered her down into the garbage chute from the third floor.

The sheet ripped and she plummeted down three stories into the trash compactor which then activated upon impact, leaving the woman badly injured.

Police Lt. Brian Gillian told NBC that when the police arrived at the scene, “The officer was greeted by a hysterical person who was looking for help and brought him to the basement," Gillian said. "There was a female lying on the ground next to a dumpster. She was obviously in pain and had a very serious leg injury."

The woman, whose leg was “severely deformed” from the fall, was taken to the hospital where she was deemed to be in fair condition.
