Thanks to the Minnesota Vikings, a 99-year-old fan is living a full life. Millie Wall, a lifelong Vikings fan, had never been to the team’s playoff game before and struck gold with this one because it turned out to be a historical game.
Leading up to the Divisional Round game against the New Orleans Saints, the Vikings organization surprised Wall with a special birthday gift, a pair of tickets to the playoff game, according to Yahoo! They had hoped that she would provide the team with some good luck, and she might have because the Vikings were hanging by a thread until they made a miraculous comeback with a walk-off touchdown pass from Case Keenum to Stefon Diggs.
That had to have made Wall’s day. It’s also so nice of the NFL’s Commissioner Roger Goodell to personally bestow her with another pair of tickets, this time to the Super Bowl.
Her granddaughter, Ashley, went with her to the game to share the special moment together.
Although Wall has tickets to the Super Bowl in her home city in February, she has to wait to find out if her home team will qualify. They’re scheduled to play against the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia in the NFC Championship two weeks before the Super Bowl. There’s now a Twitter hashtag, #MillytoPhilly, to try to send her to watch the Vikings play at that game.
Who knows; she could be the good luck charm they need to win that game and move on to the Super Bowl.
