Boy, 8, Drives Sister To McDonald's After Learning To Drive On YouTube

An 8-year-old boy stole his father’s car and drove his 4-year-old sister to McDonald’s all because she wanted a cheeseburger. How did he learn to drive? YouTube.

A 4-year-old girl desperately wanted a cheeseburger from McDonald's while her parents were asleep.

Her 8-year-old brother was not going to let anything come between his sister and her love for food. The little boy stole his father’s car and drove the child down to the nearest McDonald’s joint in East Palestine, Ohio.

Interestingly, he even managed to drive like a pro, following all road signs, obeying traffic rules and stopping at signals when required. “This kid learned how to drive on YouTube,” patrolman Jacob Koehler told The Weirton Daily Times.

“I think there is a good teaching point here. With the way technology is … kids will learn how to do anything and everything. He probably looked it up for five minutes and then said it was time to go. He didn’t hit a single thing on the way there. It was unreal,” Koehler said.

“A friend of the family saw what was going on and called the grandparents,” he added.

Using money from his piggy bank, the boy ordered a cheeseburger for his sister.

The fast food joint workers initially thought the kids’ parents were in the backseat and were pranking them. But soon enough they realized, the children were on their own. By then many people who had seen the children driving on the street had already informed police of the situation.

The parents are not being charged for negligence as the children had already eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner that day, but were still craving the cheeseburger, apparently.

While the kids waited at McDonald’s they were fed more cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets and fries.
