Dedicated father Antonio Vargas made this Christmas holiday one to remember after he gifted his son with a stuffed talking monkey that plays voice recordings of the boy's mother, who passed away in July.
The heartwarming moment was shared by Vargas in a Facebook post that has since gone viral, garnering more than 100,000 shares.
Losing a parent is not easy, especially for a child, but people tend to hold onto things of sentimental value that remind them of their loved ones.
In Indonesia, there are even some families who live with the dead as if they’re still alive. Vargas didn't quite go that far, but he did give his son the chance to listen to his mother speak loving words to him anytime he wants to hear them.
With the press of the stuffed monkey’s hands, feet, and belly, a recording in the boy’s late mother’s voice plays, and she says the following phrases: “I love you to the world and back,” “Give me a big hug, I love you,” “I love you guys so much, and I will always love you,” and “Tell him Mommy loves him.”
The boy's emotional, happy tears upon receiving the special gift tugged at the internet's collective heartstrings.
