Keep proof of unbelievable things especially if they take place on the first of April or else no one would believe you.
Cary McCook got hit by a deer as soon as he stepped out of his vehicle. The deer was charging through a hotel parking lot in British Columbia, Canada, when it ran into McCook without any warning.
Now, we’ve all heard of trucks and vehicles slamming into deer and other animals, but this was an unusual story where a human got hit by a deer.
McCook fell to the ground right after the animal head-butted him.
“As I was turning, my brain couldn’t process what was coming at me and by the time I knew it, [I had] already had gotten hit by ‘Bambi’ that was being chased by a dog," said the 25-year-old man.
Apparently, the deer was in such a hurry because it was being chased by a dog that can be seen running in front of the truck in the footage.
Thankfully McCook wasn’t hurt.
But there is more to this unusual story: Because this incident occurred on April Fools' Day, nobody believed McCook when he told them about the occurrence.
McCook shared a picture that he clicked after the incident but most of his friends didn’t buy the story.
His mother also thought her son was trying to pull off an April fool’s prank. "She couldn't believe it. She's like, 'All right, Cary, good one,'" he told CBC Radio.
But once he got the CCTV footage from the hotel and uploaded it on Facebook, people finally believed him.
He said he doesn't mind people having a laugh at his misfortune.
"My mom always tells me that laughter is good medicine," he said.
