Florida Gov. Rick Scott is looking like a fool in the media once again after encountering an angry constituent at a Starbucks in Gainesville.
Cara Jennings, who was patronizing the coffee shop while working on her laptop, spotted Scott and his entourage and proceeded to “rip him a new one,” so to speak.
“You cut Medicaid so I couldn't get Obamacare," she shouted at the Republican governor who endorsed Donald Trump for president. “You're an a**hole! You don't care about the working people. You should be ashamed to show your face around here.”
Jennings — a stay at home mom who works part-time — even snapped at a young woman who attempted to calm her down as she quipped, “I’m not talking to you!” and carried on heckling Scott.
While Scott was likely caught off guard by the woman’s rant, he initially listened to her with a smug smile planted on his face until he chimed in with a rebuttal that he created a million jobs in Florida.
“A million jobs? Jennings retorted before firing off a series of rhetorical questions. “Great, who here has a great job? Or is looking forward to finishing school? Do you really feel like you have a job coming up?”
Unable to take the heat any longer, Scott and his team swiftly exited the establishment empty-handed, but not before Jennings got the last word:
“Shame on you Rick Scott,” she said. “We depend on those services. Rich people like you don’t know what to do! When poorer people like us need services you cut them. Shame on you Rick Scott! You’re an embarrassment to our state!”
Jennings reportedly told a local news station that many onlookers thanked her for standing up against the governor. When it was all said and done, the person recording the whole ordeal can be heard saying in a satisfied tone, "Sweet!"
