It was touch and go for a moment — a very scary moment!
First-time father Carlos Henrique will never forget this day. He was attempting to place his newborn son's carrier on the hospital counter when it fell and the baby went flying.
Luckily, quick thinking receptionist Leonardo Araujo was there and instinctively reached out just in time to catch the newborn, inches from the ground.
Araujo kept the baby in his arms afterward, long enough to make sure he hadn't been hurt. The parents were able to take the lucky baby home soon afterward.
"It was a big scare. For us, at least, because the baby remained calm. I was worried about his parents, who were in shock," Araujo told the local press.
"It was God's work. Actually, I am still in shock until now," says the father. "As for me, I just want to forget this moment and raise my son."
