The teenager returned to the rink after being out of practice for almost four years.

Madoka Takayama hadn’t been on the ice rink for almost four years. She recently tried her luck at the sport, unwittingly gifting the internet one of the most hilarious viral videos this year.

In the video, the 16-year-old falls over and over for almost an entire minute after stepping onto the rink.

Madoka’s friend, Kyoka Tanaka, who is also 16, filmed her friend the entire time. Little did she know that her recording would go viral after raking in more than 11 millions views.

Clad in a striped shirt and long, gray cardigan, Madoka stepped confidently toward the edge of the rink in her skates. However, as she takes her very first step on the ice, she slides forward.

Trying to regain her balance, she tries to stop herself, but ends up falling straight down.

The girls shared the video on Twitter, with the caption: “The courage you have when you can't skate but go straight in anyway."

The video was also shared on Chinese social media network Weibo.

Speaking to BuzzFeed, Kyoka revealed her friend said “she's not afraid of anything,” adding Madoka is “a quick learner and got the hang of it quickly.”

“I wasn't hurt at all! Not a scratch,” said the ice skater herself.

Meanwhile people on social media could not help but relate to her situation.
