Late night show host Jimmy Kimmel has a habit of doing things differently. This time, the host decided to do something special for the fans of BTS, the South Korean pop group visiting the U.S. for the American Music Awards.
The band performed at an “outdoor mini-concert” and several devoted fans camped out for days to catch a glimpse of the K-pop members. Producers of the show came up with an idea and decided to give a special surprise to the people waiting in line.
The organizers looked out for moms, who were accompanying their daughters, and brought them inside the studios. They then introduced the mothers to the boys in BTS.
In the monologue, Kimmel describes how they selected moms from the lines and asked them to come inside and talk about their “super fan” daughters.
The segment starts as a staff member of the show goes out, talks to women waiting and asks them if they can talk to them about their fan daughters.
To their surprise, the moms go inside the studio and meet the band members one-on-one. The excited women then talk to their daughters via video call — but the daughters don’t look as thrilled.
After making the girls jealous of the meeting, the women reunite with their daughters and talk to Kimmel about the experience.
“And how are you feeling right now? Describe your emotions if you could,” asked Kimmel
One of the girls replied, “A little jealous.”
Watch the video above for the hilarious reaction of the girls.
