Late NYPD Officer's Widow Birthed Their Baby Two Years After His Death

Thanks to in-vitro fertilization, a widow is able to give birth to her late husband's baby — two years after he was killed as an NYPD officer on the line of duty.

After losing her NYPD officer husband over two years ago, Sanny Liu has just given birth to their child, Angelina through a feat of modern science, NYPD News reported.

On December 20, 2014, Detective First Grade WenJian Liu was killed in the line of duty, and that night, Liu chose to preserve his semen. Later, Liu used the semen and in-vitro fertilization in order to get pregnant.

The night after his death, Liu claims to have had a dream in which her husband handed her a baby girl. She said she knew it was a baby girl even before the sonograms proved it.

She refers to her family as the "big blue family."

Officer Liu and his partner, Rafael Ramos, were murdered while sitting in their car in Brooklyn by a "cop-hating lunatic," according to The New York Post.
