#MannequinChallenge Is The Internet’s Latest Craze

A new viral video trend is taking over social media. From high schoolers to football teams, the internet is noticeably obsessed with the Mannequin Challenge.

Step aside Ice Bucket Challenge, a new video meme is sweeping the Internet: The Mannequin Challenge.

The viral sensation is quickly filling up social media feeds and serving up Internet denizens with yet another time-wasting activity to distract from 2016’s chaotic reality. The challenge depicts groups of people frozen in intricate poses as a camera winds through the scene, often to the beat of “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmurd featuring Gucci Mane (the meme’s unofficial anthem).

The social craze reportedly originated in late October from a group of students at Edward H. White High School in Jacksonville, Florida.

Since its breakthrough, the challenge has been accepted by a host of high schoolers, football teams, and even the challenge’s noted soundtrack — Rae Sremmurd. Below is a collection of some of the best videos to bless the internet. Hopefully some of these will inspire you and your friends to take up the #MannequinChallenge.
